Today, we are going to start our new story, 'The Lottery' by Shirley Jackson. We are going to use what we know about irony as we read. Before we read, I want you to think about the following question and in the comments section, I want you to write your response. Today, your responses are going to be seen by your classmates, cyberspace, and of course me! You are going to be able to comment on each other's ideas as well, so please be respectful and school appropriate.
How would you feel if YOU won the lottery? What would you do with the money? What would you buy?
Ok, now that you have the question, go down to the green small button that says __Comments, click on it and begin writing your response. Your response should be at least 7-8 sentences. As you go about your day, check on this post again and see if your classmates or I, responded to what you wrote!
Finally, you are going to download and read 'The Lottery' by Shirley Jackson. Please click on the following link to download the story. Tomorrow we will work on activities that get us deeper into the story!
