Happy MONDAY 7th Grade!
Today, we are going to work on some comprehension activities for 'Song of the Trees'. Make sure you have your copy of the story...whether it is printed or if you have to download it again!
Today, let's take out our notebooks and open to the mini lesson section and copy down today's statement.
Readers analyze the basic components of the story as a way to get a better understanding of what is going on in a text.
Let's think back to our Basic Story Vocab:
Underneath your notes, us your story to figure out all of the above elements from 'Song of the Trees'. You do not need to write sentences, but have enough information that you understand what is going on.
Here is the link to the story in case you need it:
www.warrencountyschools.org/userfiles/3281/Classes/80540/Song-of-the-Trees-Text.pdf
Next, open to a new page in Writing About Reading...you may use the back of a page and draw and label a plot diagram! (Look back in your notes if you are confused...guided reading especially.)
On your plot diagram, only fill in Exposition, Climax, & Resolution. We will do the rest Wednesday during our Zoom meeting! When you are finished, answer the questions at the bottom.
