It's THURSDAY!!!!
Yesterday, you applied what you learned about character archetypes to 'Moana'. Today, we are going to begin looking at a Hero's Journey. Please take out your mini-lesson section and let's write today's statement!
Readers use what they know about character archetypes to track a Hero's Journey throughout a myth.
Now, let's take some notes about a Hero's Journey! Use the Powerpoint and write your notes underneath your mini-lesson section.

Now that you have finished writing your notes, I want you to start thinking about Moana's Journey. We all should have identified her as the Hero in the story. Think of each part of the journey and decide where Moana fits in. Next week, we will be making a comic about Moana's Journey. You do not need to turn anything in today, but you may want to start sketching in Writing About Reading.
Once you are ready, read your independent book for 20 minutes.
