- Connotation is an idea or a feeling that is conveyed by a particular word
- Some words give off a positive connotation (exp: puppy)
- Some words give off a neutral connotation (exp: dog)
- Some words give off a negative connotation (exp: mutt)
- Connotation is an idea or a feeling that is conveyed by a particular word
- Let's practice with a word from our article:

- New would be a neutral connotation
- Present would be the negative connotation
