There are historical moments that each generation will not forget.
- For me and most of your parents: September 11th, 2001
- For 3 years now, I have asked you to talk to them about that day. I have shared my memories of the day. It is always fresh in our minds...it is a day we can not forget
- A huge moment in time for my parents was President John F. Kennedy's Assassination and the 1st Moon Landing.
- I remember my grandparents always talking about the Moon Landing and WWII.
- Other events that influenced American's lives include:
- Barack Obama becoming President
- The Wars in the Middle East
- The Fall of the Berlin Wall
- Vietnam War
- V-E & V-J Days
- The Bombing of Pearl Harbor
- I want you to grab a new notebook, a pile of loose leaf paper, open a new Google Doc, or grab a hand full of computer paper.
- You are going to write a daily journal entry about your life during the Pandemic Quarantine.
- This will be done in addition to your daily work. Tomorrow, we will go back to where we left off in Social Studies before Spring Break.
- You will detail what you are seeing in the news, how the world, our nation, how your friends, neighbors, and family are responding to this pandemic.
- Each entry should be at least half a page. You may write poems or use drawings if you would like to use your artistic abilities.
- You are creating a primary source. YOU ARE THE FIRST HAND ACCOUNT. YOU ARE THE WITNESS TO THE EVENT.
- Fridays, you will share one of your entries with the rest of the class in a blog format.
- Below, I am going to post some questions to guide your writing. You may use them or just write about YOUR feelings.
- You do not need to send me a picture of what you write each day, BUT I want you to take this seriously. In 10 or 20 years, you may have want to look back on these moments. On how you were feeling and what was going on.
- If you want to work on this as a family, please feel free to do so!
