Some students have already been asking about the high school process, that is FANTASTIC! It is not too early for them (or you) to start thinking about where they want to spend their next four academic years. In my classroom, students have access to a board of scholarships and high school information that is updated periodically. It is your student's responsibility to look at the board and pick out scholarships that fit their needs.
When your student looks at the board, they will see the name of the scholarship/high school opportunity, along with the due date, and the date they need to ask a teacher for a letter of recommendation. Please make sure that they ask for a recommendation by the date listed so the teacher has enough time to write a letter! Students will also be able to take home a flyer describing the opportunity.
Remember, there is an 8th grade parent meeting on September 17th at 7:00 p.m. in the gym! All students are expected to attend with their parent/guardian!
Any questions or comments?!
